FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

We are in development, so some things are decided and some are still planned. Here is where each one stands.

When will Shift Residences open?

An opening date has not been scheduled. We are in development planning and will announce timing as it is confirmed. Priority list members hear first.

Where will the first residence be located?

Our first community is planned for Pennsylvania. A specific site is being selected near major medical employment centers in Northeastern and Eastern Pennsylvania. No address has been chosen.

How much will a residence cost?

Pricing will be announced when our first location is confirmed. The model is intended to be one clear monthly price that includes furnishings, electricity, heating and cooling, water and sewer, internet, video streaming, in-unit laundry, parking, and maintenance.

How long are the leases?

Stays are intended to align with 13-week assignments. We intend to offer predictable pricing for continuous 13-week renewals, potentially up to about 39 weeks. Final terms are provided in your lease agreement.

Can I extend my stay?

We intend to support extensions. Shorter weekly extensions may be available at a different rate, subject to availability. Renewal terms will be set out in your lease.

What happens if my assignment is cancelled?

We are proposing assignment cancellation protection. If an employer or staffing agency involuntarily cancels or ends your assignment, you may qualify for early termination with verification and seven days notice. This does not apply to voluntary changes. Final terms are provided in your lease agreement.

What is included in the residence?

Each residence is planned to include a private bedroom with a premium queen bed, a full kitchen with a 36-inch refrigerator, range and oven, microwave, and dishwasher, a private stacked washer and dryer in the bathroom, a four-person dining table, a dedicated bedroom workspace, a living room, smart TVs, a built-in wardrobe, and under-bed luggage storage. Utilities, internet, and video streaming are intended to be included.

What do I need to bring?

The intent is that you arrive with your suitcases and settle in. Residences are planned to come fully furnished and equipped, including cookware and dishware. You bring personal items; we plan to handle the rest.

Is there laundry in the unit?

Yes, every residence is planned to include a private stacked washer and dryer, located in the bathroom. No coins, and no shared laundry room.

Is parking available?

Dedicated, well-lit parking is part of the planned design. Specific details will be confirmed as the site is finalized.

Are pets allowed?

Pet-friendly options are being evaluated and no pet policy has been finalized. Assistance animals are accommodated as required by fair housing law.

Can a partner or second occupant stay with me?

Residences are designed as private one-bedroom homes and can accommodate up to two occupants. A specific second-occupant policy is being evaluated and will be set out before leasing begins.

How is security handled?

The planned design includes smart entry locks with unique codes per tenancy, well-lit parking and walkways, and exterior cameras on entrances and parking only. There are no cameras inside residences. We describe planned features honestly and do not make absolute safety claims.

Is internet included?

High-speed internet is intended to be included, with a private network for each residence and smart TVs ready to use. Each bedroom is also designed with a dedicated workspace for paperwork, study, or remote work.

Is TV included?

Yes. Video streaming is intended to be included through Roku. The Roku Channel offers thousands of free movies and TV shows, hundreds of live TV channels including 24/7 news, and kids programming, with no subscription needed. YouTube and other popular apps are available too. Premium services such as Paramount+ or STARZ can be added with your own account. Cable television is available on request.

How does the priority list work?

Join the priority list with a few details about your preferred region and timing. As plans are confirmed, priority list members are the first to hear about availability, pricing, and how to apply.

Is joining the waitlist a commitment?

No. Joining the priority list is not a reservation or a commitment of any kind. It simply lets us keep you informed, and you can leave the list at any time.

Still have a question?

Join the priority list and ask us anything. We would rather tell you what we know, and what we don't, than guess.
