Why Shift
Designed around the shift you work and the life you live between shifts.
Travel assignments come with a specific set of housing problems. Here is how each one is addressed, point by point.
Real problems, real answers
The parts of travel housing that wear you down.
We spoke to the everyday friction of assignment life and designed around it. Primarily for travel nurses, and useful for many healthcare travelers.
Night shifts and daytime sleep
True blackout window coverings, a noise-conscious layout, and climate control you set yourself, so you can sleep while the sun is up.
Arriving with luggage and no time
A fully furnished home ready on day one. Under-bed storage is designed to take your suitcases so you can actually unpack.
Late-night arrivals
Smart entry with a code that is yours, plus well-lit parking and walkways, so arriving after midnight feels fine.
Assignment extensions and cancellations
A leasing model built around 13-week contracts, with intended extensions and proposed protection if an assignment is cut short.
Buying household basics again and again
Cookware, dishware, and a coffee maker are planned to be in place. You bring your clothes, not a carload of kitchen gear.
Missing laundry and kitchens
A full kitchen and a private in-unit stacked washer and dryer in every residence. No shared machines, no coins.
Repeated deposits and moving costs
We intend to keep up-front costs low and transparent, with deposit alternatives being evaluated. Pricing is announced when the first location is confirmed.
How it compares
A different category of stay.

Who it is for
Travel nurses first, and many who travel like them.
We build primarily for travel nurses. We also recognize other healthcare travelers, whose needs are related but not identical.
Travel nurses
Our primary focus. The whole home is designed around shift work and the rhythm of 13-week contracts.
Physicians and locum tenens
Short, intense assignments that still deserve a real home to return to.
Therapists (PT and OT)
Settings and schedules vary, and a calm, fully equipped base helps.
Imaging and surgical technologists
Long days and odd hours call for genuine rest and an easy arrival.
Respiratory therapists
Demanding rotations are easier with laundry, a kitchen, and real sleep.
